Council Standards for providers of Personal Assistants & care agencies

Birmingham City Council recommends that you check the organisation or individual you are buying services from is appropriately insured. All Home Care Agencies must be CQC (Care Quality Commission) registered. Personal Assistants have no requirement to be registered with a regulatory body.

Birmingham City Council does not guarantee that it makes checks on the suitability services offered by providers advertising in this category. However some Home Care Agencies may be accredited by Birmingham City Council and may state this on their advert, those providers will have had some checks undertaken on them. Birmingham City Council recommends that you check the organisation or individual you are buying services from is appropriately insured. All Residential Care Homes with and without nursing must be CQC (Care Quality Commission) registered. All care elements of Extra Care Housing must also be CQC registered. Sheltered Housing, Supported Living and Personal Assistants have no requirement to be registered with a regulatory body.
